Saudi Arabia flatly rejects Trump’s Gaza takeover plan.

Establishing a Palestinian state ‘is a firm, unwavering position’, Saudi’s Foreign Ministry says, rejecting Trump’s ethnic-cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza.

Saudi Arabia has reacted swiftly and firmly to US President Donald Trump’s recent pledge to “take over” the Gaza Strip, reinforcing its stance that no normalization of relations with Israel will occur until Palestinians have their own independent state.

In a clear and direct statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that the establishment of a Palestinian state is a non-negotiable priority for the Kingdom. The statement emphasized that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has made this position crystal clear, leaving no room for misunderstanding.

“The establishment of a Palestinian state is a firm, unwavering position,” the Ministry said. “His Highness [Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman] has affirmed this stance in a clear and explicit manner that does not allow for any interpretation under any circumstances.”

Saudi Arabia stressed that it would continue its relentless efforts toward the creation of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Moreover, the Kingdom made it clear that it will not establish diplomatic ties with Israel until this goal is achieved.

Trump’s comments, made during a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, proposed that the US would take control of Gaza after relocating Palestinians, transforming the region into a prosperous hub dubbed “the Riviera of the Middle East.” This controversial proposal sharply contradicts Saudi Arabia’s long-standing support for the Arab Peace Initiative, which calls for the recognition of Israel only after a Palestinian state is established.

Saudi Arabia's firm and unyielding position reinforces its role as a key player in the Middle East, underscoring its unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause and its dedication to a just and lasting peace in the region.
